Monkey Under The Mountain's latest release, "Sisyphus," is based on Greek mythology and the themes of arrogance, defiance, and the consequences of challenging forces beyond your control. Allusions to Hermes and endless punishment give it a mythological feel. It's combative from the outset, with "So you think you can trick the gods. I'm especially interested in the character's confidence as it slowly frays under the weight of the consequences of stubbornness. It's a lyrical notion that brains and drive can become a handicap when ego gets in the way. To me, it's a dramatic study in hubris, where the desire to outwit fate is the downfall.
