Godzilla In The Kitchen's latest release, "No Sign Of Life," is a hauntingly spooky mood. The song's words move from quiet spookiness to the threat of violence. So gentle. Very peaceful. The phrase is repeated when referring to a person, which makes the neighborhood danger all the more disturbing. Child / Do not wake the sleeping dog. A warning subject to interpretation. I like the contrast between the song's quiet opening images and the increasingly alarming references to fire and the consequences to come. For me, this is a dark, tense release that thrives on uncertainty and leaves the listener wondering what will happen when the silence breaks.
