The Drunk Beavers' latest release, "No.4," is a song that, peculiarly, is always about what it deliberately leaves unsaid. The song was written in two days and doesn't deal with the usual themes of war, death, freedom, or instructions on how to live. I find it interesting when a song refuses to send a clear message because it forces the listener to think beyond what it's about. The lyrics are open to interpretation; they don't tell you what to think. To me, "No.4" is an intentional understatement that defies expectations and celebrates artistic freedom.
