The chorus repeats the phrase “I’m evolving,” giving the song a direct, almost confrontational center, and the lines about turning yourselves inside out and undressing for one another create a mood of exposure and reinvention. The difference between "The future is calling" and "The future's appalling" is the whimsy of change. The song doesn't smooth out evolution or make it easy.
