Boosie Badazz stands up for Drake after Super Bowl Halftime Show

Drake has had one of the roughest Sundays in recent hip-hop memory. In the first, Kendrick Lamar cleaned house at the Grammys, adding five more awards to his trophy collection, including for "Not Like Us," the diss track that called out the Toronto superstar by name. Then, when it looked like the storm had passed, Lamar pulled an even bigger stunt by performing the track during the Super Bowl Halftime Show, adding salt to the wound.

It was a brutal moment, and although much of social media loved the spectacle, Boosie Badazz wasn't here for the slander. On Monday, the Louisiana rapper took to Twitter to express his sympathy for Drake and blast those trashing him while he was down.

Boosie wrote on Twitter, "Just imagining how Drake feels after boosting so many artist careers with his features n those same mfs ain't got sh*t to say positive about this dude. That a*s f**k to me, on God, If I was Drake, Nobody could ever get another feature from me."

The tweet was blunt but spoke volumes. Boosie, who's not known for holding his tongue, was adamant that he's not in favor of how folks sit back happily watching one of hip-hop's biggest stars be dragged.

Boosie's defense of Drake is significant because it underscores a split in the rap community. While some artists and fans believe the Drake bashing has crossed a line, others celebrate it as a much-needed shift in power.
