Problematic Jam's latest release, "Problematic Louie," sounds like it was made in a small basement with sweat, feedback, and pure instinct. It's a great rough garage-rock riot. It's loud, messy, and doesn't care at all, and that's the whole point.
The track starts with an instrumental intro that sounds rough and like it was made by mistake. The guitars sound like they're about to fall apart, the drums crash in without a care in the world, and the whole thing sounds more like a band practicing than a finished recording, daring anyone to keep up.
Then they start chanting "Louie Louie..." It's easy, never-ending, and sticks in your head right away. When the song ends with its rough outro, it doesn't feel like an ending so much as a burnout. With this release, Problematic Jam shows that sometimes the best music comes from letting go, turning up, and accepting the chaos.
