Mr Pigeons unveils sonic canvas with new album ‘Ivory’

Based in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, Mr Pigeons isn’t just an artist; he’s a multidimensional creator, seamlessly weaving together music, sound art, and fashion. Since making his sonic debut in 2019 with “Come Along,” Mr Pigeons has tried exploring identity and expression through an eclectic blend of alternative hip-hop and poetic spoken word. His latest release, the LP Ivory, is a bold continuation of this journey, following up on his earlier album Peachy Turquoise.

Ivory is an immersive nine-track odyssey that delves into themes of faith, love, and the mysteries of life, drawing listeners into Mr Pigeons’ deeply introspective world. The album is a rich tapestry of ambient textures, atmospheric soundscapes, and rhythmic beats that invites listeners to get lost in its contemplative vibe.

Opening with “Black Moon,” Mr Pigeons sets the tone with soft, ambient stretches before the beat's crisp snap, pulling you into a dreamy, beat-driven landscape. His laid-back vocal delivery glides effortlessly above the textured backdrop, creating a hypnotic effect that draws you in deeper.

On “Tacha Soul,” the swung groove of the beat and deep, floating tones set the stage for Mr Pigeons’ smooth rapped delivery, resulting in a slick, memorable jam. The experimental “Colourbleed” leans into industrial beats and jarring instrumentals, highlighting his fearless approach to genre-blending.

The standout track “Ivory Coast” features gliding reversed textures and sparse acoustic guitar, creating a dark, hypnotic, eerie, captivating soundscape. The album closes with “We Winning,” a compelling finale featuring crunchy drums, warbling guitar tones, and bright chimes, wrapping up Ivory on a high note with its innovative production.

With Ivory, Mr Pigeons once again showcases his unique artistic vision, blending hip-hop, experimental sounds, and poetic lyricism into a captivating experience.
