Kent McDaniel’s latest release, “Over Yonder (And Round the Bend),” is a warm, dreamy look at a place in memory. I love the luscious imagery of golden sunshine, tall oaks, summer nights, and the countryside. There’s a great sense of escape. The chorus is a soft yearning, as if we can’t quite remember the last time we went somewhere special, but we can dream of going there again. For me the song is about simple pleasures and the timeless longing to belong.
