Eguie5’s latest release, “Oxígeno,” turns love lost into a fight for air. What I like about the central metaphor is how powerfully it conveys how separation can turn the world suddenly strange and unwalkable. The chorus reflects the desperation, making it memorable and emphasizing the feeling of not being able to live freely without someone. “Oxigeno” wins for me because it takes openness and turns it into a vivid, deeply human expression of pain.
