Nice Boat's latest release, "Everybody's Bored," is an uptempo cut, brings a pulse to boredom. Talk-singing sits on a rough, gritty bass line with random handclaps. "Bored" is that awkward feeling of looking into someone else's eyes and seeing boredom while struggling with the concept of boredom in the abstract. The bare-bones setup puts the vocal attitude right up front, the frustration sounding immediate, not polished away. The rough presentation is intentional, and that rough presentation is what the song is about that makes you uncomfortable. "Everybody's Bored" reads like a happy, pointed rebuke to boredom as the default.
