Jack Nolan's latest release, "Saving It Up For A Sunnier Day" has a thoughtful singer-songwriter vibe, pretty guitars underpinning lyrics caught between love, ennui and recurring sadness. The opening question, "Tell me my love do you see what I see," immediately establishes intimacy before the song meanders through records, memories and the odd emotional weight of everyday life. The writing carries a sadness, especially when it comes out of nowhere. But Nolan doesn't let the listener off the hook that easily. The title is the song's soft answer, even in darker times, something brighter is in store, on purpose.
