Killen’s latest release, “White Light,” is intensely personal, a place to come to terms with love, loss, and depression. “The song is about having to work through feelings that are hard to talk about in regular conversation, and honesty is what makes the song pull the hardest. “Emotionally, I’ve really cracked the door,” Killen says. “That image fits the purpose of the record. But “White Light” doesn’t linger in the dark. The song has movement, because hope runs through the tough subject matter.
