Pool Girl's latest release, "Call It What You Want," is a lovely introduction to the universe of their debut album. The single, released whilst on tour in France, drifts effortlessly between hazy surf-rock textures and slick synth flourishes. Beneath the breezy exterior, there's emotional tension, as the lyrics explore wanting more from a relationship stuck in limbo. But the production never drowns out that simplicity, instead, it lets the song unfold like a late-night confession by the ocean. "Call It What You Want" is dreamy, bittersweet, and quietly addictive.
