Dumomi The Jig's latest release, “Personal”, is a smooth, emotionally aware track built on self-belief and emotional restraint, features cool confidence. It is a mature and self-assured track, the artist does not speak of situations that are consuming him, but rather of internal struggles. There’s a romantic subtext running through it all, too. He suggests that, to really understand, you have to be close and wait. Dumomi rides the laidback production effortlessly, floating over it without any sign of strain or urgency. “Personal” is a reflective Afro-fusion record that’s down-to-earth, honest, relaxed, and has heart. Its confidence is quiet.
