"Bones" is the fourth single from German singer-songwriter Mogli's upcoming album RAVAGE, and the release coincides with the fourth episode of her cinematic ten-part visual pairings. Although you might have seen Mogli in December as the spokesperson for Spotify's EQUAL GSA Campaign, she is still fighting social conventions on the most recent song below.
An electronic backdrop composed of contrasting sharp thuds, delicate piano, and gritty beats follows "Echo," "The Current," and "Ghost" in the song's score. The enhanced, powerful sonics of the single take you further into the mind of this remarkable creator, Mogli, thanks to his talent for crafting soundscapes that transport you directly into the track's narrative.
"Bones" skilfully soars through its synthetic soundwaves, plunging straight into the chaos, despite the track's themes of melancholy and losing touch with reality. "As someone who trusts her gut 100 percent, it was devastating for me to realise that depression brought toxic voices with it that disguised themselves as my intuition," says Mogli. "Every line in 'Bones' can be read as benevolent or cynical from the pain because I couldn’t distinguish anymore."
The album RAVAGE is an attempt to chronicle Mogli's struggle with depression and isolation through the lens of themes such as feminism, equality, self-empowerment, and climate change. They provide an additional visual representation of Mogli's thoughts and ideas. There is nothing quite like this project.
