Next Week's Washing stretch out confidently on "Clear Eyes," their most expansive recording to date. The track builds its personality through walls of textured instrumentation behind up-front vocals, creating a fuller presentation without sacrificing that sense of a band finding its own voice. You get a sense of the confidence with which the pieces fall into place, and the feeling of a group getting more and more at ease with a sound they can definitely call their own. "Clear Eyes" is less tentative and more of an artistic statement, allowing the instrumentation to breathe while the vocals stay firmly planted. Together, it really feels like their sound.
