Roger Spy's latest release, "Nothing Is Impossible," blends futuristic electro-pop, dark romanticism, and theatrical ambition. Its unique form builds to a massive melodic chorus that delivers the core message. The song's odd structure is what makes it work. The repeated image of "a monster inside your chest" evokes danger and intensity, but the relationship the song describes offers a counterimage of connection. The chorus proclaims with simple conviction, "Nothing is impossible / Look at you and I / Nothing is impossible / If you just try." Boldly arranged, dramatic, melodic, but with a darkness that never quite quells its hopeful heart.
