The Free States' latest release, “Most of All” is a large body of work and a glimpse into an artist who is independent and thoughtful in his approach to music. "Most of All," is a work pleasant synth, shakers, violin and melodies carefully put together. The Free States frames an album as a book, giving each record space to expand, contextualising each song’s place. The Free States is the musical project of American songwriter Shaun Lyons. He found recording as a teenager and then returned to the live performance world after a significant life experience, so his songwriting comes from a very personal place.
