Backsprint discovers gold in folk simplicity on new release "You and Me Honey"

"You and Me Honey" takes Backsprint outside its hard country-rock boundaries, and it sounds shockingly personal and vital. The track was written by Uroš Jojić while waiting for takeoff for his wife and has a warmth that can't be manufactured. The band's instrumentation is raw, with a natural Irish folk influence, and the delicate flute work of Neda Nikolić adds a human texture that lingers long after the song ends. The thing that stands out about the single is its honesty, no overdubs, no pitch correction, just musicians in the moment together. "You and Me Honey" doesn't so much feel like a recording as a memory taking place in real time.
